Here I stand amidst wintery solace
Frozen and cold my core and universe unblessed
The searing sight of pain through this disdained face
My vision from my empty guts in this unholy place
Raised my vengeance with heart and soul full rage to come
In the dark halls of this universe’s womb
I give a fair warning with thunder shout and growl
Pushing deities into the darkness of this room
Knocking on their doors wrapping their floors beating windows
Decrees to empty heaven and Hell
Dragging out every strand from the loom
Strangling every bride and groom.
It is the theft of my heart’s passion and love
That brought me here wicked driven and cold
It is the annihilation of beauty’s searing petals
That’s bound me to vengeance and horror tales told
It is the extinguishing of her life’s eternal flame
That rages a fire through time against what angels stole.
BEAUTY’S DEMISE
I
She bore no malice to the world
Was the sun in any man’s universe
Her grace and beauty was flower petal unfurled
Drove men to their knees in eloquence and verse.
Her eyes bore every ocean of blue
And the thunderous storms of grey
Her wicked smile his eyes to hers she drew
Towards each other drawn to fate.
Every crocus she picked in springtime thaw
Another would bloom and children stood in awe
Feeling her touch softer than a summer breeze
Would soothe the greatest mountain quake with ease.
When she would love, oceans would rise before her
Her passion shook the earth and trees fell and bowed
Her ecstasy went deep into the ground and to heaven’s birth
Her songs of moans and sighs gave light strength above night’s shroud
But on dew-kissed hazy hot summer morns
Angels and demons surround Aurora princess of light and love
Savagery-driven hate tore from her that which life was born
Vanquished from her alight the world against this darkness strove.
In the moments of death, fervor, and trembling
A light quickened to enlighten the murder of crows
The realization of time dragging them through the brambles
Collapsing to death’s dust, an understanding was struck by the same blow.
II
Crocus the grievous angel
Seen walking into hell
With pick axe dragging, ripping floorboards
A crowbar over torn-winged shoulders
Wolf of hunger’s anger by his side
Ravenous growls scurried in the fire
Thunder comes from every room entered
Howls are bellowed from the torn beggars
His tears disseminate the deep place where they fall
His weeping groans into screams shutter their bones
And they all turn to dust the floor of lust is purged.
In heaven fat Cupid engorged in his absorption
Weeps at the coming of his doom
As Crocus climbs the steps to want and envy
Stairwells crumble into ruin and apathy
Crushing under his space like the ocean swells to the shore.
She is forever in his heart
Enshrined, kept, and gilded
A place where it’s never dark
Her vessel in him with her essence filled
Left the moon its cycle to start
He spun the universe and took all of hell to the dark
He is a man giving up his wings
To allay those that took from him the living heart
As she was love, life, and light
Without such a kiss to soothe his heart, he has but fought.
Upon the destruction and fall Hades’ last breath
He stands and drinks the scene, death eternal.
Walking through this funeral pyre of ruin and stench.
The remains of evil seep into the ground gnawing teeth clenched
The fires are smoke into the cold winter.
As the ashes of Legions fall there nothing shall rise
When Crocus has slain the last angel
Ripped wings from this one’s back
With torn gore and sops of blood-dried hell
Drips the carcasses with the rest on mile-high stacks
Graces his work with sad, sad, smile
And blames his lack of humanity on the breath of bile
Crocus plants the pick axe to his left
In tears throws the crowbar to a world bereft
With his hands beating his breast
Hollers and cries rip his ribs open to pain unfulfilled
Her essence freed and avenged
She weeps a gentle rain
Upon Eve and her Adam
As they are free from the confines of paradise
Heaven is abandoned
Hell is shut up
The balance restored
The balance is man.
