From the dust, they left undone
They ran in horror into the fix
Hid hoarfrost in thickets and bramble bones
Her ember spirit shone through the dark
Sailed into the night-lit stars opened depths,
As only one could fathom in her lark
Pouring herself into all of creation.
Lovers Torment
She rose before me
Ember flower glowing light
The dark pushed aside
And stars fired bright.
The flesh of time within her space
Leaves me wanting with all my might.
The incantation of love and want
Pound my heart and tears at my soul
I reach through the distance and rant
Scream the spell with thundering fire and coal
Spewing flames at legions within my reach
Tearing wings off angels, the child’s innocence is breached.
As she graces the sail of night
And her fortitude spread like oceans
I am powerless to thirst for her passion,
Falling to my knees cursing all in motion
Begging and threatening spirits to go
To leave this place loving this eternal motion.
This winter’s sparkle midnight freeze
Tears at the heart with wintery claw
Her passion, love, and kisses turned to frost
Turns her being into the wolf’s natural law
Prowling the forest’s moonlit night
And search the remnant of her in spring’s thaw.
Heaven and Hell are closed and abandoned
I emptied the halls and threatened the tenants
I burned their furnishings, memories, and time
Chased their dust and dirt through the vents
I left nothing unturned, slashed or alive
I tore at the eyes of these last sycophants.
Now I brood over their broken bones
And contemplate the carnage to come through the gates of hell
They’re shut up and extinguished their fire
To hide in the darkness against the sound of the bell
As the ringing shatters and tears through their halls
The first of many is ripped bloody from his shell.
