We held each other, as our dance,
Shaken by the world being torn.
I wiped your tears as you wept
This great loss and the place
Whence we came
Sank into yesterday’s buried
In memory became dark
Only our light shone for Eve
We saw her sadness and gave her Adam
A howl came from the remnants of heaven’s choir
And fury shook the rafters of hell
Heaven and hell
Were clamouring a storm of steel
Fire and brimstone
Stank up high heaven
They began to stone you
Never having touched hair or feathered flight
I shielded you and with the power of human passion
A word from breath beat them back
They scurried whimpered, recoiled
Falling over each other
Until the quiet came
I poured thought and pondered
Running my fingers through the lion’s mane
I forgave them and turned and looked
Into your eyes and remembered …
Whence we came…..
DARK CHERUBS II
In your eyes, I fell so deeply
Caught in the waltz of flames eternal
Stars and sun’s at my feet
In your arms Aurora’s ribbons swirl
About us the crown of time is light
Fate and destiny above us bright
The kiss I give you loving bride
Gently raises the ocean tides
Stills the evening wind to a breeze
Makes the leaves quiver from those trees
And the mountains bow and shrink
Back from your soft lips our eternal link.
The ground beneath us rumbles
A prayer of thanks blessed by your presence
The kiss sealed upon you gave the sparrow song
Our lips danced upon the breath between us
Gave flight to the Golden Wing Monarch
Butterfly and moth
Love, life, and light
Rose to the sun and stars.
The charge that came from the gale of the storm
The intensity between us gave thunder its light
And the gentle power to raise a crocus
Out of the tundra.
I touched your cheek
And made angels sing their chorus
The look I gave you in love
Made hell grow dark and cold;
And when I whispered in your ear
Eve gave Adam his first kiss.
A tear of joy ran from my cheek
And you wiped it dry
Before it touched my lips.
The universe spun around
As we danced in its wake
Leaving life behind us to quake
And move the oceans and ground
We loved one another in a field
Open wide and bring starlight
To a shaded evening where dusk was our shield
And the sun burnt memories into the sky’s twilight.
