I’ve seen the flower she has been

The full bloom under the summer sun

I tore a small part of my soul

To shade her beauty from the sun

And wept for her not to grow old too soon

When the storms came to the weather

I took my bones to shelter her bloom

Then the cold came and try as I may

It overcame me and I slept through the day

When I awoke she had withered

Into the dust of a desert wind

Swirled amongst others

Spinning in the breeze

And in my tears

DARK THOUGHT FROM YOU

My unhappiness makes my misery smile

Slaps my brains with un-avowed guilt

Twists my bowels with jealous lust

Where then in my life can I hide?

Because your eyes tare to the core

Rips the soul of my being in half

And sets fire to my eternal self.

When the gentle morning glory blooms

Her blue-grey flower sunwards stretches

To grasp the universe in the loom

Climbing the banister out of the weeds and vetches

Further into the sun she reaches

To find her seat with the roses and thorns

Looking into the distance to the beaches

Another place she’d rather be and forlorn

When the gentle morning glory fades

In the midday sun with a last kiss

She withers closing morning the bloom bade

And becomes death, life has kissed.

It is when I think of you

That the stars dim and the moon pales

When my thoughts ponder thee

The rose wilts and withers

When I wonder about your beauty

Mountains quake and fall to dust

But if I call your name

With that breath, all is restored.

The wandering knight starless

Void of passion under a heaven

That darkness slew with thunder

Is on his knees in mud and rain

Asks the depths of sorrow

Which angel stole truth from his heart?
