Like angel wings
Over our head
Brush strokes sink
Into the blue
Fades as they move east
We are madness running
As if the full moon pours
Through the dark of day
Walking in full stance
Dancing to the day’s cues
Rhythm and moods
Their shadows wane in the light
While the moving clouds turn.
I think of one of these
Long stretches of highway
You know where the trees reach
So high you’d swear
The leaves were blue
And the clouds make them
Sway as they pass
I look at you
And you bring me back to now
I think of your life
Somewhere in the world
The place you occupy
Fits in your way
You wear the day
With a dark pride
You let its shadow
Spillover you
As your waltzes
With concrete and chrome grill
And the flash of glass
From the late afternoon sun
Gleams in your eyes and smile
You pucker a kiss to the wind
It’s just how I feel about the world
